Author’s Bio

A little information about me: my name is Christopher R. Obie. I grew on a farm in northern North Carolina. My upbringing on the farm instilled certain values that I still hold dear to this day. It also gave me an appreciation for the earth, her life-giving qualities and the various creatures that we share this most extraordinary place with. I was trained as a Computer Scientist at N.C. State University, however, I have always been an “artist” at heart. I love to read, write and draw. Lately, I’ve primarily focused on writing with a special interest in writing fiction. It was at the university that I first fell in love with Africa and her many diverse cultures and people. Being a writer, I naturally wanted to tell the stories of her people (my people) that, unfortunately, have been neglected for far too long. I’m hoping that this story will help in some small way to change that reality!

The story of Dumisai is a story steeped in African tradition. The goal was to make the story as authentic and entertaining as possible. If you learn something while reading it, then my objective has been met. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed telling it!
